EarthCraft Featured in Built America Magazine’s Veterans Tribute Edition
We’re honored to be featured in the inaugural issue of Built America Magazine’s Veterans Tribute Edition—a 14-page story celebrating EarthCraft’s journey, our approach to high-performance building, and the mentorship that shaped who we are today.
The feature traces Jon Clark’s path from military service to the building trades, and honors the legacy of founder Mark “Ron” Hixson—an early pioneer of design-build in Idaho who believed homes should make people’s lives fundamentally healthier.
“People say it’s business, not personal,”Jon shares in the article.“For me, it is personal. These are homes where families will grow. That’s sacred to me.”
The article showcases our signature straw bale projects and dives into why this building method works—from its two-hour fire rating to its superior moisture handling and exceptional indoor air quality. It also looks ahead to our expanding panelized solutions that will bring sustainable building to more families.
We’re grateful to Built America Magazine for telling our story, and to everyone who’s been part of this journey—especially Ron, whose wisdom lives on in every wall we build.
