On Saturday, June 7, 2025, EarthCraft Design Build hosts a bold, first-of-its-kind event. This live, side-by-side burn demonstration pits conventional walls against a high-performance straw bale wall assembly.
Packed tightly, straw bales contain little oxygen, preventing flames from spreading. When finished with earthen or lime plaster, straw bale walls can outlast and outperform conventional stud walls in both thermal retention and fire resistance.
