About Us

– Jon Clark
President, EarthCraft Construction Design|Build

EarthCraft Construction Inc. was founded 15 years ago by Mark “Ron” Hixson to achieve two things.

First, to leave the world a better place than he found it.

And second, to further promote a Service- Oriented Business Model that is still maintained today.

We view EarthCraft as a business that prioritizes serving our clients.

We strive to add value to our client’s lives through our buildings and business practices.

I took the helm from Ron over 5 years ago. Since then, I have worked hard to further his Design-Build vision.

I have also incorporated my own ideas about green design and quality construction techniques.

I came from Louisiana and was mentored by master carpenter and builder Jim Armentor.

Bringing those exacting and meticulous traits to the builds in Idaho has been a worthwhile challenge.

It is a challenge we will continue into the future.

EarthCraft has carried out many successful design-builds.

One of the most notable is the Boise Avenue Straw Bale Residence.

It won the Mayor’s Design Excellence Award in 2010.

It is also Idaho’s first-ever LEED-rated residence (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Green building has inherent architectural fundamentals.

These fundamentals are unlike many conventional design details we see in most of our structures in America.

At EC, we work to best apply these green design fundamentals within a common-sense approach to your custom design.

Every building, client, and property is different, as are the design considerations given to each of those individual aspects.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a single-family residence. It also applies to a large commercial structure.

EarthCraft is committed to the efficiency and success of your project.

Jon Clark

PRESIDENT

Jon Clark is a licensed general contractor and Design|Builder in Idaho & Oregon and is President of EarthCraft Construction.

EarthCraft specializes in designing and building healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings that offer environmental, social, and financial benefits.

Jon was born and raised in Texas and Louisiana. He started working in construction 12 years ago. Before this, he served as a Scout Sniper in the United States Marine Corps. After serving five years in the Marines, he moved to South Louisiana under the mentorship of Jim Armentor.

During this time, Jon found his passion for design and building. Jon embraced the correct way to approach building through Jim’s guidance. “If it ain’t right, it ain’t right.” Every detail and build must be right, no matter what.

EarthCraft has distinguished itself by outperforming its best competitors. It achieves this through practices of high-performance, energy-negative, and carbon-negative standards. The company also adheres to passive solar and PassiveHaus standards. Meanwhile, it maintains design functionality in all its structures.
